The Opening Ceremony of Online Bachelor’s Degree Program via distance learning of the course 3/2017
On October 29, the opening ceremony of the Online Bachelor’s Degree Program of the course 3/2017 took place successfully under the organization of the eLearning Center – ELO.
In order to create opportunities for busy people to improve their qualifications, the eLearning Center – Ho Chi Minh City Open University continued to hold the opening ceremony of the Online Bachelor’s Degree Program of the course 3/2017. The university implemented 7 majors under the form of online training. With modern technology, learners can be flexible in terms of time, location, maximize cost savings, still be able to absorb scientific knowledge, and hone practical skills. The opening ceremony received support from a large number of students. It was attended by the Board of Directors, leaders of university departments and especially Mr. Nguyen Van Phuc – Deputy Minister of Education and Training – Former Rector of Ho Chi Minh City Open University.
Accompanying with Ho Chi Minh City Open University in the journey of cultivating knowledge, opening up opportunities for everyone are senior leaders from large enterprises, experts who directly share their valuable practical experience and pioneers responding to the university’s online bachelor’s degree program.
In addition to new online students, there were representatives of businesses at the ceremony:

- Mr. Dien Van Chau – Deputy General Director of FAC Auditing Co., Ltd.
- Ms. Tran Thi Minh Anh – Director of Nam Sao Vang Co., Ltd.
- Mr. Hang Nhat quang – Deputy General Director of E&Y Company
- Mr. Phan Tran Quan – Director of JKL Co., Ltd.
At the beginning of the program, Mr. Vu Huu Duc – Vice-Rector of the university made a heartfelt speech: “Over the past 27 years, Ho Chi Minh City Open University has been the first public university taking the lead in distance learning activities to enhance learning values, creating favorable conditions for working students who still want to continue to develop their qualifications. Today, we welcome new students, teachers, and are honored to have the presence of the Deputy Minister of Education and Training, and leaders of enterprises. I hope that Ho Chi Minh City Open University will continue to be a place to develop and connect talents all over the country and abroad.”
Responding to the atmosphere of determination to practice, Mr. Phan Tran Quan – Director of JKL Co., Ltd. made a couple of statements: “I myself had the opportunity to meet and work with Ho Chi Minh City Open University. I highly appreciate high-quality human resources trained by the university. The graduates can adapt and develop in the future working environment. Therefore, the technology application of online training is very necessary, helping the university to increase the capacity for taking a lead in distance education, offering more opportunities for those who want to study, but do not have a chance to realize their dream.” The encouragement of Mr. Phan Tran Quan strengthened the motivation and confidence of new students to fulfill the dream.
Following the encouragement of Mr. Phan Tran Quan, Mr. Pham Duong Phuoc Sang lightened the atmosphere of the ceremony as well as increased the motivation and confidence of new students so that they could to fulfill their dream and reach the peak of glory by performing the song “Duong den vinh quang” by the late singer-songwriter Tran Lap.
Dr. Phan Thi Ngoc Thanh – Director of eLearning Center announced the decision on recognizing the list of students and presented student identification cards to new students.
In order to help new online students not be surprised by the new online training, Ms. Huynh Thi Thu Thao – Regional Manager of Hansae Fashion Company – online student of the course 2/2017 shared the reasons for learning and some effective learning methods: “Online learning is a method in which we self-study, arrange our own time, and can be flexible in learning and practicing, so it is easy for some of you to stagnate or wait until the end of the course to study. Therefore, you should allocate your time and plan your personal learning strategies. It is essential for you to spend at least 1 hour on studying, but do not spend too much time on learning because it would accidentally create pressure and boredom for you. “
Finally, to thank leaders for sharing, MSc. Vu Tuong Quyen – new online student of the course 3/2017, gave promises and sincere thanks to the university. Also, on behalf of new students, she showed her hope “Not just stop at the online learning sessions, I hope the university would organize more extra-curricular sessions, offline sessions and seminars to share more knowledge, creating conditions for students in all places to meet each other after studying and exchange ideas via video lectures and forums.”
The opening ceremony successfully came to an end with everyone’s applause and congratulations.
