On 14 and 15 March 2019, at Nikko Sai Gon Hotel, HCMC Open University successfully hosted the International Conference with the theme \u201cOnline Education \u2013 Opportunities and Challenges\u201d. Participants of the Event were the leaders of the Ministry of Education and Training (Vietnam) and professionals of prestigious universities and higher education institutions in Vietnam and abroad.<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

The aim of the conference was to provide an active forum for scholars and specialists in higher education and particularly online education together to discuss the trend of educational development: Training programs, guiding design, materials, teaching methods, administrative systems \u2026 Also, the meeting was to help attendants acknowledge challenges that have been occurring in the online education sector in Vietnam and around the world. Besides, specialists introduced and analyzed online education modules and methods that were being developed to bring out reality analysis and solutions for training quality improvement. All of those information, knowledge, and experiences were expected to contribute to online education development policies in Vietnamese higher education.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Associate Professor Vu Huu Duc \u2013Vice-Rector of HCMC Open University claimed: \u201cThis is the first conference on online education hosted by HCMC Open University. We hope that it is an active forum for researchers, specialists, administrators, and lecturers \u2026 in education, especially in online education to join in and discuss ideas for education development in this era of industry 4.0. Through ICOE 2019, we want to highlight that online education is the trend in the territory and around the world and also in Vietnam.\u201d<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Over the past 30 years, HCMC Open University has always been the leader in the distance education sector. E-learning is a flexible form of studying giving learners decisions of studying time and places as well as travel expense reduction. The objectives are to:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

– Bring opportunities for flexible studying, anytime and anywhere, to anyone.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

– Offer the Bachelor Training Program and online certificates based on a Full-time training program.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

– Invest in advanced technology and infrastructure to provide excellent studying support.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

– Help improve self-learning, self-researching, and usage of the internet and technology in studying<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
