Open Cyber University of Korea (OCU) visited and worked at Ho Chi Minh City Open University

Korea Open Cyber University paid a visit to and had a working session with Ho Chi Minh City Open University. This marked an important step in promoting educational cooperation.

On the morning of January 23, 2018, Ho Chi Minh City Open University had the opportunity to welcome and work with the Korean Open Cyber University’s leadership. The representative of the Korean school was Prof. Ph.D. Hyeon D. Yeo – Head of Planning Department. On the Ho Chi Minh City Open University side, there were Assoc. Prof. Ph.D. Nguyen Minh Ha – Vice-Rector, Ph.D. Phan Thi Ngoc Thanh – Director of Online Training Center and the lecture of both sides.

During the conference, the leaders of the two universities discussed training methods to improve the professional capacity of the citizens in the long-term integration and cooperation period between the two countries. In addition, training models and policies are key issues in this meeting.

Assoc. Prof. Ph.D. Nguyen Minh Ha acknowledged that the cooperation between the two HEIs will be a great condition for the development of education, cultural exchange of the two countries, new teaching models, and diversity of teaching content with high applicability on training platforms, especially online training.

During the conference, Ph.D. Hyeon D. Yeo expressed his joy and sincere thanks to the Open University for the welcoming. According to him, after researching the learning habits and needs of Koreans and Vietnamese, he wished to work with Ho Chi Minh City Open University. This cooperation will help to create more opportunities for people of the two countries to study, practice, improve their qualifications, and become qualified workers in companies in the two countries.

Open Cyber ​​University of Korea (OCU) was established in 2001 and is one of the first online universities in Korea to nurture talents through open education.
