HCMC Open University and District 4 Youth Union successfully cooperated to organize a sports festival

On March 26 and 27, 2022, Ho Chi Minh City Open University, the Union of officers and employees, and the Online Training Center in collaboration with the Standing Committee of District 4 Youth Union, successfully organized the Youth Sports Festival and Youth Badminton Competition.

On the first day, the Sports Festival took place at Khanh Hoi Football Club, District 4. The Opening Ceremony was attended by the representatives of Ph.D. Le Nguyen Quoc Khang – Vice-Rector of Ho Chi Minh City Open University, MSc. Tran Van Tri – Deputy Director of Online Training Center, Mr. Tran Mai Chi – Secretary of District 4. The athletes competed in two sports: Long Jump and Push Up. On this occasion, Ho Chi Minh City Open University awarded online Bachelor’s Program scholarships to members of District 4 with a total value of VND 200 million.

On the next day, the athletes from Ho Chi Minh City Open University – Union of Officers – Online Training Center – District 4 Youth Union participated in the competition with other units of District 4 in the Youth Badminton Competition. The players competed in both men’s doubles and mixed doubles, in the form of knockout rounds, at the Sports Center in District 4. The semi-finals and finals were exciting and equally talented. In the end, the athletes from Ho Chi Minh City Open University and District 4 Youth Union excellently won the Second Prize and the Third Prize in both competitions.

The sports festival is part of the 91st Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union anniversary, the 76th anniversary of Vietnam Sports Day, and the 87th anniversary of the traditional day of Vietnam’s militia and self-defense forces. The sports festival aims to promote the role of accompanying young people in developing social practical skills, improving physical, cultural, and spiritual life, and improving self-discipline in health among union members and youth.
