The training on quality Assurance of Online training according to the standards of Quality Matters (QM), USA

Within the framework of the Program “Training on Quality Assurance of Online Training according to the standards of Quality Matters (QM), USA”, the first Zoom training session took place on the morning of January 19, 2022. The program had the participation of Ph.D. Le Nguyen Quoc Khang (Vice President) and leaders of units under the University, representative of rapporteurs, there was Ph.D. Deb Adair, Ph.D. Yaping Gao – from QM, Assoc. Ph.D. Vu Huu Duc – Head of National Educational Science Project on E-learning. This series of events was organized by Ho Chi Minh City Open University – Online Training Center.

In the beginning, two presenters introduced to the Board of Directors, leaders of units, and lecturers of the University about QM organization and the set of standards for assessing the quality of online subjects. After that, there was a discussion related to quality accreditation standards in the context of higher education in Vietnam.

Assoc Prof. Ph.D. Vu Huu Duc introduced the topic of quality assurance of Online training

In the following part of the program, Assoc. Ph.D. Vu Huu Duc presented on the topic “Quality assurance of online training”. This was an important part of the research study on “Technology-based learning and training (E-learning) in higher education and open online training for the masses (MOOCs): World experience and application in Vietnam”. Moreover, many suggestions were discussed to improve the quality of online training at the University.

In the near future, a series of workshops will be held on two days, January 20 and 21, 2022, with topics such as “Applying Quality Matters Rubric”, “Designing an online course”, and “Designing a final course” fit”. The series of events aims to train the University’s lectures in the pilot implementation of the Quality Matters Rubric standards set, as well as orientation to improve the design quality of online and blended courses.
