Online training in the 4.0 era: Find new directions with experts

Issues regarding Online Training were analyzed by educational experts and speakers in the Scientific Seminar on the topic of “Online Training: Opportunities and Challenges” organized by Ho Chi Minh City Open University.

 

Online training seminar with the world’s leading experts

According to Ph.D. Phan Thi Ngoc Thanh – Director of the eLearning Center, Ho Chi Minh Open University, in March 2019, the university would hold a scientific seminar “Online Training: Opportunities and Challenges” on an international scale.

 

The Scientific Seminar “Online Training: Opportunities and Challenges” was first organized by Ho Chi Minh City Open University.

The program aimed to create a forum for scholars and experts in the field of higher education, especially online education, to share and discuss the development trends in online education. The seminar will focus on topics such as online training programs, instructional designs, learning materials, multimedia, online teaching methods, learning management systems, etc.

“The seminar will help participants to recognize ongoing issues and challenges in online training in Vietnam and around the world. The outcome of the seminar would contribute to the formulation of policies on promoting the development of online training in higher education in Vietnam”, said Ph.D. Thanh.

 

Ph.D. Thanh also said that the seminar will be attended by leading experts and speakers such as Prof. Deborah E. Adair (Senior Director, Quality Matters Organization, USA), Ph.D. Yaping Gao (Professional Director, Quality Matters Organization, USA), Prof. Dong Sun Park (Program Director, APEC Human Resources Development Working Groups, Korea), Prof. Nita Temmerman (University of Southern Queensland, Australia) and some domestic experts.

 

Assoc. Prof. Ph.D. Vu Huu Duc – Vice-Rector of Ho Chi Minh City Open University introduced the online training program.

The organization board will discuss and analyze many issues such as Trends and application requirements for eLearning in higher education in the industrial revolution 4.0; The inevitability, the role, and benefits that online training brings to higher education, meeting the supply of human resources with knowledge and skills to work in a globalized environment; Introducing and analyzing developing online training models and methods in the world; Analyzing the situation and proposing solutions to improve the quality of online teaching and learning as well as sharing experience, applying online training in some countries around the world and getting experience for Vietnam; Application of information technology to higher education, especially the explosion of the industrial revolution 4.0; Quality assurance issues in online training, etc.

For the Seminar “Online Training: Opportunities and Challenges” to have a general view as well as contribute to the formulation of development policies on online training and change the society’s public view of the application model of digital technology in training high-quality human resources for the country in the age of technology 4.0, the organization board is looking forward to receiving articles and comments from scientists, managers, researchers, lecturers of universities and training institutions in Vietnam and abroad.
