Online training program & management in the industrial revolution 4.0
From October 11 to October 13, 2017, leaders and lecturers of the Open University of Ho Chi Minh City discussed the method of “Teaching and managing online training in the Industrial Revolution 4.0” together with Prof. Ph.D. Nita Temmerman from the University of Queensland – Australia. The program was extremely successful and aims to improve the quality of management and online training services of the University to bring the best values to online learners.
The training program had the participation of Assoc. Prof. Ph.D. Vu Huu Duc – Vice-Rector of the Open University of Ho Chi Minh City, the dean of faculties, and the lecturers. The training program was divided into two phases:
– Phase 1 takes place from October 11 to October 12, 2017, for lecturers of the University.
– Phase 2 takes place on October 13, 2017, for leadership members.

The training program for staff and lecturers is a regular activity of the Open University of Ho Chi Minh City and its purpose is the action for the changes in society, especially in the innovation of Industry 4.0. Participating in the training program in 2016, the school’s staff and lecturers will be introduced to active teaching methods and management skills aimed at the main topics:
– Provide knowledge and skills on online training program management methods for the University’s Leaders. Therefore, improving the quality of management and online training services of the University.
– Tendencies and principles of teaching in online programs for users.
– Analysis and evaluation of factors affecting online teaching at the Open University of Ho Chi Minh City
– Principles of designing and building an online course

During the program, lecturers are divided into small groups to discuss, exchange, and participate in analyzing topics and situations to bring the best teaching methods for themselves in particular and the school in general. Many methods are introduced by Prof. Ph.D. Nita Temmerman and they are received positive responses from lecturers.
Shared and discussed teaching skills, Ph.D. Phan Thi Ngoc Thanh – Director of Online Training Center – Open University of Ho Chi Minh City shared the urgency of the program. In addition, these activities not only help lecturers have the opportunity to sit together, exchange, and discuss to come up with positive teaching methods, but the training class is also an opportunity for the school to help lecturers improve their qualifications, skills, teaching, and management. After the class ended, the teachers applied many teaching skills and management skills to students during the learning process on an online technology platform.
