The opening ceremony of Online Bachelor course 03/2020, majoring in English between Ho Chi Minh Open University and Tien Giang Provincial Youth Union
In response to the movement of building a learning society, Ho Chi Minh City Open University cooperated with Tien Giang Provincial Youth Union to successfully organize the opening ceremony of the first online Bachelor’s program, course 03/2020 – English major for officials and youth union members on the morning of October 10, 2020, at the headquarters of the Tien Giang Youth Union, My Tho City, Tien Giang Province.
Mrs. Nguyen Thi Uyen Trang – Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union – paid her gratitude for the direction, attention, and support from the Provincial Party Committee and People’s Committee of Tien Giang province. They have encouraged Provincial Youth Union in building a learning society, concretized through a project to improve English proficiency for union members and young people in the province. The Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union highly appreciated the cooperation efforts between the Provincial Youth Union and the University and hoped this would be a good start in the connection and training of cadres and union members, young people, especially young union members. Finally, the Secretary wished the new students good health and encouraged them to strive to overcome difficulties and achieve success. Additionally, she expressed her gratitude to the University for the support, and she was looking forward to continuing to accompany the program in the future.
Representative of the Open University of Ho Chi Minh City. Ho Chi Minh, Ph.D. Le Nguyen Quoc Khang – Vice-Rector gave a speech introducing distance learning programs and methods implemented by the University. In the opening statement, the Vice-Rector congratulated the freshmen and encouraged the spirit of learning, persistently overcoming difficulties in time to complete the goal of cultivating and developing skills.
The ceremony was in the framework of the training cooperation agreement signed between the University and the Tien Giang Provincial Youth Union in November 2019. This is the first achievement marking the efforts of both sides in bringing together quality learning opportunities for learners living and working in Tien Giang province. With the advantages of flexibility and convenient learning methods, online training programs are effective and suitable learning solutions for busy working people.
At the ceremony, the representatives of Tien Giang Provincial Youth Union were Mrs. Nguyen Thi Uyen Trang – Member of the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Youth Union, Provincial Member, Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, and Mrs. Nguyen Thi My Huong – Deputy Secretary – Chairman of the Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union in Tien Giang province. Representatives of the Open University of Ho Chi Minh City were Ph.D. Le Nguyen Quoc Khang – Vice-Rector of the University, Ph.D. Phan Thi Ngoc Thanh – Director of Online Training Center, MSc. Nguyen Ngoc Thong – Deputy Director. The program has the participation of new students majoring in English, the 03/2020 course’s students, all union members, and young people in the province.
