Ho Chi Minh City Open University held a press conference to introduce the first free online learning system in Vietnam

On the morning of January 16, 2021, at Pullman Saigon Center Hotel, Ho Chi Minh City Open University held a Press Conference to introduce the VMOOCs System. After 30 years of establishment and development, Ho Chi Minh City Open University is constantly innovating and creating diverse and flexible training methods in space and time suitable for learners with different backgrounds of knowledge, and different learning conditions. We had researched and built a model of mass open online education called VMOOCs (Vietnam Massive Open Online Courses – Vietnam Massive Open Online Courses with flexible training methods – Sustainable Development).

VMOOCs (short for Vietnam’s MOOCs) is known as an open online education system that provides free courses to improve people’s knowledge and promote lifelong learning goals. Just connecting to the internet, learners can participate in free courses of skills or specializations for 4-6 weeks in many fields. Currently, this system starts with 40 different courses, learners can self-enroll in courses, perform learning operations, and self-request for certificates if they complete at least 70% of the course.
